ZOTUP S.R.L

Industry leader in lightning and surge protection systems, for over 30 years ZOTUP S.r.l. has been producing and selling a wide range of high quality SPDs, proudly Made in Italy. Consistently collaborating with designers, distributors, and installers, it offers extremely high-performance and reliable surge protection devices, accompanied by a widely experienced and always available technical service. Protected by four international patents resulting from 330 laboratory tests, ZOTUP SPDs are studied for a wide range of applications, making them suitable for several types of protection needed. The products comply with IEC and EN standards and benefit from the KEMA-KEUR International Quality Label.

ZOTUP values are simple

  1. SECURITY: Protecting people, their property and their work is the main priority, ensuring cutting-edge solutions that anticipate new safety standards.
  2. QUALITY: A constant element in all ZOTUP products, strictly Made in Italy.
  3. INNOVATION: The constant development is the lifeblood of ZOTUP, generating innovation, the true response to the needs of every customer.

The unique technical features of ZOTUP SPDs

Integrated Fuse Function (ff)

Function that guarantees, at the end of the life of the unloader, the open circuit failure mode without the adoption of back-up fuses placed in series. The elimination of fuses with MCB 160 A (internal or external) and fuse connection cables avoids the tedious evaluation of the fuse, improves the overall protection level and reduces the size of the enclosure.

Advantages

Progressive Performance Indicator

ZOTUP SPDs allow to monitor their level of degradation both locally, through the progressive performance status indicator, and remotely through a remote signal contact where present, which is activated when the minimum performance status is reached. This has led to a significant change from late end-of-life information to a prior one, which allows to replace the SPD on time. This information is of fundamental importance, as it allows to prevent possible damages to plants and appliances.

Advantages

Pollution Degree 3

This feature allows the use ZOTUP SPDs even in environments particularly severe due to the presence of conductive elements such as dust, salt, moisture and condensate. In the presence of conductive pollution, SPDs can suffer serious damage, even in the absence of surges. These SPDs meets the requirements of the Pollution Degree 3 up to 400 V and goes beyond the Temperature Extended Range thanks to intensive material research and a specifically oriented design.

Advantages

SURGE PROTECTIVE DEVICE

1. SPDs for Low Voltage Alternating Current Applications

Typical use: in TN-C, TN-S, TT- or IT-systems with connection type CT1 (4+0, 3+0 and 2+0) or with connection type CT2 (1+1 or 3+1 connection) according to HD 60364-5-534. They are generally installed as close as possible to the origin of the installation, e.g. in Main Distribution Boards (MDBs), as well as in Sub Distribution Boards (SDBs).

Features

2. SPDs for Alternating Current with additional interference filter

These SPDs provide protection damage from direct and indirect discharges with additional filtering to reduce high frequency electromagnetic interferences. Ideal for data center, CED and DCS protection.

3. SPDs for Direct Current and Photovoltaics Systems

Typical use: in TN-C, TN-S, TT- or IT-systems with connection type CT1 (4+0 and 3+0) or with connection type CT2 (1+1 or 3+1 connection) according to HD 60364-5-534. They are generally installed as close as possible to the origin of the installation, e.g. in Main Distribution Boards (MDBs), as well as in Sub Distribution Boards (SDBs).

Features

4. SPDs for LED Lighting

LLP (LED Lighting Protection) system is a ready-to-install assembly of a voltage limiting and a voltage switching SPD, providing two modes of protection in a protective housing for the installation inside the opening at the pole base, with the following features and benefits:

5. SPDs for Data Transmission

SPDs for the protection of network equipment (HUBs/SWITCHES) in structured cabling systems in category 6.

6. SPDs for Signalling and Telecommunications Networks

Typical installation: in series with the signalling/telecommunication circuits for equipment with “low resistibility” according to Recommendation ITU-T K.45 / “low surge immunity” according to IEC/EN 61000-4-5.

7. Isolating Spark Gaps

ISGs are in accordance with the standards EN 50164-3 / IEC 62561-3 and are used for indirect bonding of a lightning protection system to nearby metal systems, where a direct bond is not permissible for functional reasons, e.g.:

  • For the protection of isolating joints in systems provided with cathodic protection or stray current systems.
  • For service entry masts for low voltage overhead lines.
  • For the protection of insulating flanges of pipelines.
  • In the proximity of railway systems.

They provide the following features and benefits:

8. Surge Arresters for High Voltage Systems

Typical use: high voltage surge arresters for the protection of HV/MV transformers, switches and power transmission lines. Designed, produced and tested in accordance with the IEC standard.
